In 2024, the State of Montana introduced the Enhanced Concealed Carry Permit which gains reciprocity with additional states in the country. Along with the requirements of the Standard Concealed Permit, the Enhanced Permit requirements include:
Applicant/Student must be 21 years or older.
Completed a handgun course in the preceding 12 months. (Which includes):
Basic Safety Principles
Use of Force
Self-Defense Principles
Firing a minimum of 98 rounds of ammunition

The Enhanced Concealed Carry Course is a one-day live fire course that includes:
